Debbie

Debbie is my sister in-law; she was married to my then husband’s brother. Debbie was a lot of fun and I have very fond memories of her. The day I got the message she had passed; I had finished work sitting in my car going through my messages and there it was, her daughter told me her mum had died from cancer.

I hadn’t seen Deb for a few years because I had been through a divorce, so I didn’t know she was unwell. I drove home along the Coldstream Highway in Victoria which is full off rolling hills and wineries. The sun was setting on the day, and I just howled and howled behind the wheel of my car. A beautiful kind soul had left her daughters and her husband of whom she loved dearly. I loved Debbie and felt so sad that I hadn’t been in touch, I never got to say thank-you and to tell her how much I appreciated her and how much I love her.

About 10 years later I was getting a reading, I was asked if I knew anyone by the name of Debbie. To my surprise and absolute delight, I knew straight away. “Oh Deb” I could feel her presence and she gave me a beautiful message that I will hold in my heart forever. The reader told me that she had come through as a beautiful mermaid with golden hair, she said that it was her happy place and she felt at peace. Deb was a natural blonde and very beautiful inside and out on this physical plane.

I got off the phone and felt so drawn to paint Deb, it was a lovely experience for me to reconnect with Debbie. The process was incredibly healing and interestingly it happened over a few years. You see I created this Mandala a few years ago and it was very one dimensional, it didn’t have a lot of detail. This year 2023 after going through life changing events as most of us have during this time. I looked at her and decided to revisit the piece, and the depth of detail emerged, and the beauty and power of this piece became evident.
